Scallops

Today is my day over at Frosted Designs to share with you my Scallop Project.

My favourite part of this canvas would have to be my girl. She started life wearing a mauve dress and it just looked very drab. She needed something brighter so I coloured her in with my pink PITT artist pen big brush from Faber-Castell. Once coloured I rub it with my finger so you could not see the brush marks I think I did it about 3 times to get the colour that you see here. Then I gave her bright orange flowers.

SpiegelMomScrapShop  is the sponsor for this challenge so please pay them a visit and you might find something that you just have to have.

Life Isn't About Waiting For The Storm To Pass

Last Tuesday I attended a class at my local scrapbooking shop Create On Ormond.  With my love of mixed media I just had to do this class. It combined all the elements to a fun and messy time. Paint, paper, doilies, and a hessian canvas. I have never worked on a hessian before and quite liked it. May have to use is again.

Cassie from Cassandra Bright Designs was the teacher of this masterpiece. She made it very easy and the experience makes me want to make more. I love Cassie's teaching style she does not tell you what to do, she just guides you through the steps, so that the end design is yours. I had not finished my canvas when I left as I had to pick up Miss C from school but that night when Miss C and Master C were in bed I finished it.

Thank you Cassie, cannot wait to do more of your classes and be inspired by you.

Easter

As we all know next week is Easter and the facebook group Scrap it With Attitude decided to get into the spirit of Easter and create an Easter project. I think the whole idea of the project was to provide the members with inspiration so they could use their photos. Well since I am not really one to do scrapbook pages I have created an off the page project.

This is my version of bunting. It was a lot of fun to create.

Pink, Purple and Aqua love that colour combination. The Easter eggs started off as white but I decided to colour them. To colour them I used Tim Holtz Distress Stains - Picked Raspberry, Dusty Concord and Broken China.

Up, Up & Away

The theme for this fortnights challenge at  Frosted Designs is Up, Up & Away. What springs to your mind when you read those words? The minute I thought of them my mind went straight to a hot air balloon, not sure why. After some thought I decided to do something entirely different. I wanted to think outside the box and I think I have done that. My butterfly crown fit for a fairy princess.

Please visit Frosted Designs and if the design team inspire you to create a project that fits the theme then post it on your blog and then link it to the challenge. The Up, Up & Away challenge is sponsored by Creative Chaos.

Chevrons

Today is my first inspirational project for Frosted Designs

The theme as you probably can guess is Chevrons. Before I was chosen to be a member of the  Design Team at Frosted Designs I ordered a stamp from Kazazz and it just happened to be Chevrons. It arrived a day or 2 after we were told what our first project was going to be. You can imagine how excited I was to be  able to use this stamp and I knew straight away what I was going to do with it. Would you like to see?

What do you think? I had this idea in my head all along that I wanted to use the stamp in a non traditional way. So what I did was cover the canvas with some gesso and then pressed the stamp into it leaving behind the indentations of the stamp.

A lesson to be learnt by all make sure that you wash your stamps after using gesso straight away or else you will leave some behind. I am still trying to clean my stamp but it will get clean eventually.

If Chevrons are your thing then why not create a project and then link it to Frosted Designs.
